WHY A BANNER AD?
"Given the state of the economy, there was particular interest this year in Cyber Monday activity. Would consumers return to work after a long holiday weekend and head online to shop in levels similar to what we saw in prior years? Our data shows they did just that – and then some. Traffic to Nielsen Online’s eShopping Holiday index increased 10% compared to Cyber Monday 2007, with Amazon, Best Buy and Sears showing double-digit increases in unique visitor versus last year." excerpt from Nielsen Online
More and more people are using the internet as a shopping resource. How often do you pick up a telephone book these days when all you need to do is type the name of the business into your Google bar and up will pop not only the business telephone number but address, website, and a map showing you how to get there.
If I want to find a hair salon, and I'm new to Squamish, do I go through the newspapers, do I check out the yellow pages or do I fire up my computer and search online. Or maybe, while I'm checking to see what's happening in Squamish, I just happen to also see an ad for a hair salon on the same site.
Online advertising is becoming more dependable and legitimate.
People are learning to trust online ads. They are seeing more and more local and relevant ads on the websites they love. Google sends area-specific advertising to their facebooks and twitter sites, and websites like our events guides present users even more localized advertising.
If I told you I could offer you a display ad that was seen 500 times a day by a targeted audience of local and interested shoppers, and that I could offer you this ad at a fraction of the price of newspapers and telephone books, would you be interested?
And what if I also told you this ad could link people directly to your business website, or your facebook page or your blog or it would open up their email and create an email that was addressed to you?
Times are certainly changing and it's all environmentally friendly and much much less expensive than previous ad campaigns.
